Replaced Water Pump without the impeller key, ok to test?

Yes, in my haste to finish in low light, after putting everything back together, I found impeller key. Any harm in testing/running without key? Or best to take her all back apart and put in. Thanks, Scott

Without the impeller key it won't pump water. Take it apart and put the key in.

Dang man!! How did you even get the impeller housing onto the impeller? I usually spin the driveshaft as I slide the cup over the vanes.
