removing my outboard

Hello all, I'm planning on removing my 150 merc from my bass boat for transom repair. This will be my first time removing an outboard. My question is when i disconnect my tilt trim I assume i will lose hydraulic fluid from the shaft that raises the motor. Is this easy to replace? will i mess up the tilt trim by just unhooking the compression nuts and letting the fluid drain? I know these questions are pretty amateur but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Curious myself about this one, I don't imagine there will be any issues. I removed an old system from one outboard onto my boat and just filled up the pump resevoir after installing the hoses and bled the air out through the fill point for the pump.

You may learn that a few motors used the mounting bolts ( as a tube ) to supply oil to the trim system from inside the boat.-------Did away with the mess of hoses in the boat transom well.
