Removing 2001 mercruiser 3.0

I'm almost done taking apart the engine and getting it ready to be pulled. Is it necessary to pull the drive or can I rove the engine and leave the drive on?ThanksJoeAlso, I'm thinking of doing a reman Jasper engine? Does anyone have any complaints about them. Or should I go with a new long block.
 
You got to align the motor and drive anyway might as well remove the drive first and see whats what back there.

Michigan motors has new and rebuilt.

Me for the little extra money you can go with new.
 
Regardless of what some may offer for advice on removing an out drive or not when pulling a motor... ALWAYS remove the outdrive.
As said you HAVE to check/adjust alignment after new motor goes in. (again HAVE TO!!)

You should never assume that all is good with the boots, gimbal bearing drive shaft ect ect.
