Remote to tiller ... 04e 50 hp TLDI

Any suggestions on swapping a 2003 Tohatsu 50 hp TLDI from remote steer to a tiller? The new multifunction tiller handle will not work from what I'm told. Suggestions on where to get parts. Thanks in advance.
 
The new multifunction tiller handle will not fit correctly. You can get parts from any Tohatsu dealer, but it will be pricey.
