Remote controls for 76 35hp johnson

Newbie here with a restored 15ft starcraft....Was considering picking up a 76 Johnson 35hp that looks to be in good shape for the boat, but seller doesn't have controls...what controls would work with this motor? Boat currently has a dash ignition (works) from mid 60's johnson, no controls in boat.

can I use current dash ignition and get old style 2 lever simplex control box to use with this motor or do I need red plug OMC controls (delete dash ignition) or something else?

thanks for the advice. Any thoughts on what a reasonable price is in New England for such an old motor in decent shape?
 
You can use a Simplex/Shipmaster control and keep your dash mounted wiring. However you won't have any way to connect the electrical to the motor red plug. That means you will wind up cobbleing something up. Best to get the proper control.
 
Thanks for the reply guys, checked above link, the controls it indicates is two lever, no electrical plug to controller. Well anyways, I also saw some posts indicating those engines had a cooling problem often resulting in engine scoring or worse. That scared me away. I am now looking at a later model yammie 3cylinder 30hp that is currently mounted with controls for a price less than Johnny. I know this is an omc forum, so figuring I am an outcast here...I have experience with a mid 80s yammie which has been an excellent motor for me, so thinking this may be worth a hard look.
