Regular fuel or premium?

Owners manual will tell what fuel to run in any motor. A motor designed to run on 87 octane will NOT make more power on premium 91-93 octane, without modifying something. But running 87 octane in a motor designed for 91-93 octane can damage an engine. Run what is recomended and be happy

I’ve been using premium for awhile now cause it doesn’t have as much ethanol. My engine is a 78 so I’m sure the specifications are regular. This should hurt my engine right? Just runs hotter?

I run Exxon-Mobil premium in everything I own. Why, because I believe Mobil premium has additives that fight the ill effects of today's alcohol added fuel. The ill effects of ethanol are mainly limited to the fuel system and carburetor. A-lot of motorcycles need carb rebuilds and cleaning far too frequently due to the ill effects of ethanol in the fuel.
