Reed valve or needle not seating?

2001 Mercury 90hp 2 stroke. Compression 110 on all 3 cylinders and spark on all 3. Runs out on top end but doesn't want to idle for very long. Here is a picture of the intake cover. It looks like fuel has been coming out of the throat of the top carb. Model # 1090412ZD. Thanks in advance fellas!!
 
Thanks Jeff! That's the direction I was headed. I ordered carb kits before I made the post actually. I figured if it was Reed valves it would have been popping and back firing.

Mercury is very proud of their Rose Pedal Reed....even feature it in their sales brochures: "Rose Petal" reed block assembly atomizes fuel more completely, increasing fuel efficiency. And this means more lake time for you." I don't race but never heard of anyone having reed problems in my boating career. Carb fuel needle valve seating problems.....frequently. I think you are on the right track.......grin.
