Reducing sensitivity on throttle for hand held tiller

Hey guys,

Merc Sea Pro 25 2004 I believe. My throttle on the manual tiller reduces from full speed to idle in about 3 seconds. I appreciate its probably a safety feature of sorts for the throttle to reduce if you stop holding it, but I think the reduction in speed seems too high.

(Eg I twist the handle and the boat goes brrrr - I let go and its back to total idle in about 3 seconds. I would rather that to be 10 seconds or so).

Is there a way to reduce how quickly the throttle when not held moves from full->none ?

Post doubled. Oops!

Welcome to the forum. Does it look like this? That little thumb screw (11) on the side of the tiller will control your throttle tension.
