Redesigning the dashboard partial analog to digital conversion:

I've been planing this redesign for a few years, now in the physical process of the redesign.orginal dash

new actual dash board (a tad wider an taller than original not as tall as yellow lines in above image) that holds the gauges plan to wrap w/ 50weight polyestor fleece an coat w/ marine epoxy. Mite add a layer of fiberglass. image

new Lowrance HDS8 display for engine an fuel data. an transmitting GPS signal over it's NMEA 0183 into a bluetooth module, 10" tablet will be paired for dedicated chart plotter. more on that later.image

planned HDS8, gauges an switch locations in framework. I have to keep in mind that I will be reduced to 4. 2 1/16" gauges when I go digital w/ fuel level an %. so I may only drill 4 gauge holes an mount fuel 2 1/16" gauge outside of new console. water pressure an trim will act as redundant gauges an won't interfere w/ the digital senders signal. I'll probaly expand t 6 holes when I setup the fresh water holding tank thats much later.
right now I wanta get the console built properly.

bracket spread it out a tad will fill w/ G flex, then coat the wood w/ epoxy not planning to wrape w/ fiberglass I had a heck of a time trying to get fiberglass to laydown on corners. plus wood isn't exposed to elements unless I roll a window down an it's raining sideways.

planned switchs on left an gauge layout on right one of the 5 holes will be smaller for the start battery capisty.

I'm a little confussed on the ETECs charging sys. which charges at 55VDC this is where I have configured the HDS8s alternator gauge was planning the smaller gauge for start battery capisty.

maynot even bother w/ using cloth soaked in glue mite just fab the switch &gauge panel out of aluminum so my carbon fiber vinyl will have a smoother surface to stick to.
