ok apparently im a goober.eith
ok apparently im a goober.either i touched the wires to the wrong pole accidentally or my car battery was the culprit.
i went fishing this morning and got rained out (ike) and noticed that my fish finder wasnt showing the normal charge.
i switched my batterys around in order to get the troller battery out of the rear and to the front and apparently i touched the wrong battery wires together at some point while hooking up my car battery.
i did joe reeves test on rectifiers and found it was bad...not to mention that after i did the third test one of the yelow wires came out of the back.
my old rectifier has goo coming out and the plug inside is turned half sideways but i tested it anyways and it passed other than the red wire #s are higher than the yellow wires.
is there any chance of stator damage already?
will it just poop out or is there a test to check for weakness?
i also read about (cant remember where)wiring in a regulator from a newer motor.
would this replace my old set up or will i also need the rec for my model?
does anyone have the part # for this newer reg/rec?
is there a chance that my car battery caused this?
its only a month old.
sorry for the book
thanks for the help.
