recoil starter question

I've acquired a 1970 evinrude sportwin 9.5...it's missing the inside spring,screw and the bottom piece that locks it in place (obsolete). would a unit from a 6hp interchange with the 9.5 ? if not is the inner spring the same ? The spring and screw are available but spendy ...all a mute point without the bottom piece...thanks
 
E-bay is a good place to look for used parts.---Posting your location is a good idea , as there may be a stash of parts near you.-----Compare part #'s right here on this site to see if the 2 springs are the same.

tried Ebay...these parts are elusive , seems the parts engines don't have the winders. I found this 6hp today with the winder but the connecting housings are different, hence the question...was hoping someone figured a way to install the 5,6 hp to a 9.5 may pick up this 6hp and give it a whirl...thanks for the comments...sanders
 
There are not many parts that will interchange between the 2 starters.----There are places where these starters are available used !
 
center screw , top spring and the bottom housing are different...just not sure how much...the bottom locking piece on the 9.5 simply fits over a post screw with a slot and a set screw holds it in place, the center screw then threads into it with the spring going over it...I'm going to try and rig something for these pieces and keep searching for a parts unit...will advise to the group when and if I can make it happen...thanks for the reply...sanders
 
I've found I can buy the spring and screw new ($49.99 per) but the bottom piece I have not found , new or otherwise...I have the other pieces...I found a 6hp today intact, hence the spring question...I can pick up the whole motor for the cost of the spring alone, which I'll do Friday....thanks for the reply....sanders
