Rec gas for 40 hp 4 stroke

I just purchased a pontoon that has a 40 hp 4 stroke Mercury outboard. I normally burn rec gas in all my small engines. Does anyone know if this engine, being fairly new, would benefit from the no alcohol in the fuel. I will always make sure that the last couple of tanks before storing is rec gas. Rec gas is currently running about $1.50 over reg. gas
per gallon.

They told us at Evinrude service school that running ethenol fuel wont hurt newer engines but dont put in anymore than you`re going to use in a day.If it was me I would go with unblended fuel.

That’s about what I was thinking also. I’m sure the performance is going to be better with unblended rec gas.
