Hello Forum, My name is Keith and I'm rebuilding my 125 Force. I have a few questions that I could use help with.
Model # is 1251E9B. Is this a 1990 model number or 1989 model or are they the same? I don't find my model # when entering for parts #'s.
I have my power head completely torn down. Two pistons ate the rings. I am replacing piston's with weisco. Everything else looks to be in good shape. Bearings, rods, cam all look good. Can't determine why it chewed the rings in cyl #2 & #4? Common?
I'm looking at gasket kits and having trouble locating the "spaghetti" seal for the case. Any ideas where I can locate? Also need advice on what other sealants are needed. RTV brand recommendations? Loctite #'s, assembly grease ect?
I've built auto engines but this is my 1st marine motor.
I read on the net to chamfer the ports in the cylinder to prevent motor from eating rings. Is this true? I know there is nothing not true on the web but I wanted to ask anyway. Thanks for any help or advise.
