"Hello all. Thanks for answering my previous questions on the overtemp alarm. It did turn out to be the poppet valve. I was wondring if anyone can recommend a good repair/service manual for a 2003 Merc Outboard 150hp XL Salt Water Series motor? I am looking for a manual that is geared more toward the novice than the professional. Also, does anyone know of a good online parts supplier for Merc parts? I appreciate all the help!

"Get the Seloc's manuals for your horsepower/year range. It is written with step by step, pics/diagrams and do's/don't.

There are a number of decent on-line Merc dealers. If you want OEM parts you can try www.mercruiserparts.com - if you don't mind using aftermarket, you can buy from Andrew who runs this site - he sells Sierra parts among others - check it out to the right of this screen. Also, his price for Seloc's manuals, either on-line or hard copy is decent..."
