Raw Water scoop

I noticed tonight while I was getting the boat ready to get wet that the hose coming from the raw water scoop is 1" into the raw water strainer when it comes out of the raw water strainer it is 1.25 to the raw water pump. I have had the boat for 4 years and it runs at about 160 all the time. It might go up to 170 at wot but thats it. Should I leave well enough alone or should I change the hose and fitting to 1.25?

If you don't run WOT for any sustained period of time and you have over 1000 days, I'd leave it be. Nothing wrong with 'fixing it' but your track record indicates it isn't required, at least for the way you use the boat.

Brian, my 1980 Model 270 Crusaders have 1.00" going from seacock to V Drive gearbox. Then 1.25" up to the raw water pump. I dont have a raw water strainer (I know I know...). These is all original sizes. No problems.
