raw water pump rebuildable?

Hello all,
my 1998 VP 5.7 GSi has the belt driven raw water pump 3857794. It is leaking around the shaft,is this pump rebuildable? Does VP sell a kit for the shaft seal?

If this were my boat, I would install a Johnson crankshaft mounted seawater pump in lieu of the belt driven seawater pump.

It can be done if there is enough space in front of the engine.

I have thought about doing that and will look into it. Have you done a rebuild on this rawwater pump, I would like to rebuild my spare which needs a new pulley anyways.
