"1997 Dancer, 454/300HP., B-III, Closed Cooling and well maintained. I've had on and off Raw Water Cooling issues for as long as I've owned our Boat. (6 Years). Impeller failure, Brand New Bronze Pump refused to Pull Water, Won't hold Draw with Muffs on, Etc.. After viewing this Thread:http://www.marineengine.com/discus/messages/12486/220737.shtml I decided to pull things apart for a full fledged examination. (Big Blocks cost a lot to replace!). I pulled off the Drive and found the Transfer Port where the Drive connect to the Transom Assembly had obviously been Leaking. It was covered in Salty Gunk. The thick "O" Ring was in place. Anyone ever seen this before? I'll be pulling the Inboard side apart after the Dover Race and will report back. Al W."
