Me again :(

this is my boat set up https://www.marinepartseurope.com/en/volvo-penta-explodedview-7736260-44-12586.aspx

290 DPC raw water intake.jpg

This is my set up with a Sierra hose. The ridge bead on the hose (about 1/4") seems too much.

will not allow the mating surfaces to fit flush. Do I have the wrong hose? If I were to use washers Between the female thread mating surface? It's a shame I tossed the old hose  so i could compare! Ugh.

Thoughts??

I'm not sure if this will help you.

There is no 290 DP-C.
The DP-C is the next generation after the the 290.

The 290 still incorporates a version of the Reverse latch system.
The 290 hydraulic cylinders attach to a hinged SS Anchorage bracket.
The transom shield is different from that of the DP-C.

The DP-C hydraulic cylinder arrangement is quite different.
These cylinders attach directly to the suspension fork (no anchorage bracket).
The transom shield is also different.

Make sure that you are looking at the correct schematic.

For anyone that has this set up for the raw water intake, and needs to change the housing with the motor in the boat, here is what I had to do:

Mine is a DP-C with a 4.3L V6.
The bottom bolt that secures the water housing to the transom where the raw water hose enters is nearly impossible to access. 1/4" socket and drive too big; open end can only move 7/16" bolt head about 1/8" at a time.!!!

Solution? Custom 7/16" socket! I milled down a 7/16" socket so the bolt head only fit....it worked.

!/4 " drive with milled socket and bolt head.

PM me if you ever need that socket haha.
