Random spring and washers

Hi. I have a 1970 6hp evinrude outboard that I am cleaning and putting back together.. as I was removing the powerhead from the exhuaust shaft a spring and some washers came loose before I could see where they were 9.. Any ideas would be much appreciated

That would be the parts for the carbon seal assembly found on top of the driveshaft.------------A manual would tell you all about it.----Very important to have that installed properly.

If missing or improperly installed, it can slowly destroy the powerhead from water infiltration into the crankcase. Don't dink around with it or take chances
