Ran Fine Then Quit 40hp 4 cylinder

I have a 1994 Mercury 40hp 4cylinder 2 stroke, ran fine after three days on the river but would not crank when I got it home. I replaced the Stator, trigger, control box and regulator, with brand new CDI pieces about 6 months ago, even using the correct battery CDI recommends, always fully charged before heading out. I have ran the engine a lot, not a single issue, at least 15 trips 30 hours easy. I get home today after a 3 day fishing trip, went to flush the motor and run out the gas, it would not crank. I found I have low DVA voltage from the Stator to Control box, red-white/ red only 2.3 volts should be 25+ and Blue-white/Blue again 2.3 volts should be 180+. I checked the resistance between the wires, spot on perfect. The last stator I had was another CDI, it was very old and worn when I replaced it, I found open windings on it, but this one is spot on resistance.

Also, I have a temp gauge on the motor, has never ran hot, should have cooked the stator.

Is it possible the Stator pooped out?

I fixed it, but did not think of the simple things first. It was the kill switch on the control box was engaged, I had removed the cable going to it when I was securing my boat to the trailer. I removed the black/yellow wire off my switch box, cracked first try, reconnected the wire killed the engine. I remember at that moment, you idiot, you tripped the kill switch when you removed the cable. So..... check the simple things first.
