"Rebuilt powerhead about a month ago. Ran fine, compression good and equal. Occasionally had trouble
starting on test runs burning double oil. Figured double oil could be problem. Went ahead rebuilt carbs, replaced all fuel lines and tank line, inspected fuel pump, even changed fuel out completely to rule out fuel issues. Cranked and ran fine the last few hours of double oil ( actually switched to 1 1/2 oil mix toward the end of break in. Went to lake and pulled may son and friends all day 2 tanks worth yesterday only to
have trouble getting it to start about an hour before dark. Acted flooded waited around a while
pulled breather off finally got it started and
had to stop one more time. Could not get started again. Changed plugs, waited, still could not get started. Had to be towed back in the dark.
I had noticed that tachometer had not worked one time during day but next start up after picking up a tuber tachometer had started working again. Left alone over night would not start this morning. Came home. Pulled plugs this evening and left plugged to plug wires and turned over. Has fire
but is not BLUE, is yellow which I know is the wrong color. Is this a power pack gone or something else.
And how can I know for sure. I doubt all 3 coils
would go at the same time but all 3 plugs fired
yellow. Was blue before. I believe that this power pack has been messing with me all along. I did
install a tachometer a few weeks back and it has operated fine. I am pretty certain it is correctly set up. I used this site to get help on
connecting to the correct wire colors. Actually pretty simple.
Thanks"
