Raker II = twisted splines

I have a Evinrude 250 HO (2011)on a Storm bass boat.I run this on Okeechobee (shallow lake).I had a Raker II on and accidently bottom on hole shot. Splines on prop shaft twisted but is still spinning true... My question is what is supposed to take up the shock of a hit on a Raker, it does not have a rubber hub insert but instead has a hard plastic inside. I went from a 26 to a 28 since my rpm's were too high (6000) but have not run it yet. Am I going to trash the prop every time I hit , OFTEN, or is the plastic insert supposed to give ??????
Thanks Bob G.

I just wanted to say that this seems like a design flaw since nothing takes up the shock of a hit except the prop , splines on shaft and gears ???

I havent seen a new Raker with a plastic type hub, but I can only assume that it is like the Mercury Flo Torq Hub.
That plastic hub insert is supposed to shear on impact and only the insert should need to be replaced...
