Quick thermostat question 1993 43 mercruiser FWC

i had a new thermostat put in a few weeks ago. Took it out last night and it runs at 160 deg. it used to run 150... it didnt go past 160 after a good 20 min of tubing though.. is this normal running temp for this motor?"

"One model used a 140 deg. F.

"One model used a 140 deg. F. and another used a 160 deg. F. I have a 140 in my 1987 4.3L and it runs right at 140 deg. Since yours used to run at 150 deg. F., you probably have the correct T'stat. I've never heard of a T'stat going up just 10 deg.; they always drop as they wear or lock shut and overheat."
