Quick question today

I just put a new throttle cable and new shift cable in my boat the engine is a 70 hp. Mercury outboard. Now at the control i put it in Forward position and it goes reverse. And reverse goes Forward. Anyone have suggestions please and thanks. Roger

The shift cable is the first one that moves.------Perhaps you need to switch them.
