Question on 1990’s 2.5 hp 2stroke cooling

From everything I have googled I am told this motor should have water intake screens or slots in the lower unit. The only thing I can find besides the gear oil check and fill plugs the anode and the exhaust port is a very small hole above the drive gear bell.

Google does not always work.-----The impeller is on the propshaft , right in front of the propeller.----Take the prop off and have a good look in and around that area.
