That Merc 1000 Thunderbolt that I asked about before has a serial # of 2411608. Any idea about the year? I have found switchboxes that match the part # (3322986), but most are for $275. I really don't want to spend that much just to see if it runs. Also saw 3322986A25 # for a good deal cheaper. Do you think that would work? Thanks for the help. That engine is either 1968 or 1969. I'm leaning toward 1969, but it really doesn't make much difference; the serial number is the important thing when buying parts.

You should be able to use the A25 number, but the terminals or mounting holes may be slightly different. It shows as an updated number. Where did you find this switchbox? I've checked all the sources I know of and can't find it at a decent price.
