joe tomorrow morning i will b

joe tomorrow morning i will be looking at a late 70's 85 hp evinrude the guy told me it ran but i have yet to see it run it turns over easy nad has graet compression the only thing i would be worried about on this motor is tha carb since it was sitting for so long but i have good clean carbs of a 76 johnson 85 that i had previusly owned and the crankshaft broke in to on the johnson what should i be worried about on this evinrude i wont be paying much for it aswell

"Josh.... I have no idea as to what you might want to worry about, and I agree that the carbs are more than likely fouled. Check the lower unit for water and metal filings... the ignition for proper spark... look under the flywheel to see if the stator might be cracked and/or melting down. And above all, if it doesn't run, don't buy it unless you simply like working on the engine(s).
