" Joe, thanks for the info on

" Joe, thanks for the info on my ptt switch removal!!! I have a 1987 Johnson gt 150 and the engine runs flawless!! Only thing about it is that when i first get to the lake in the mornings it seems to take forever to get it started! Once it starts, the rest of the day all you do is just touch the key switch and it starts running!! When i first pump the bulb and start turning it over it is spinning and i just touch the choke for an instant it seams the starter kicks out and you have to let it wind down!! I keep doing this till it finally seams to start hitting off and then finally runnig. What can i do or check for this? And one more question where and how do i check the Tilt & Trim fluid? Thanks millions Jeff "

"Jeff.... Have the engine tilt

"Jeff.... Have the engine tilted up to an extreme. Remove the fill screw on the reservoir and fill it to overflowing. That's it for the PTT lube.

The proper procedure for starting is to hold the key in (choke/primer solenoid)until the engine fires, then release it.

If the starter drive (bendix gear) keeps kicking out pre-maturely, inspect the flywheel teeth and the starter bendix gear teeth for damage.
