Hi,

I am getting everything ready to put away for the winter and wanted to run the engine on the hose again before storing the boat, and I started the engine but noticed the battery was on it's minimum after standing for 4 months... now after 3 tries the engine ran and ran good but I noticed the 3 warning lights flashing without sound. I turned the engine off and restarted, engine ran immediately and kept it running for about 5 min on the hose and no lights or alarms so tried it in gear everything without a problem.

I checked here on the forum and see that this can be caused by low battery, now my question is will I need to reset the sensor or will it be ok after charging the battery after the winter ? Or better to bring it in to the dealer and let him check it again ?

Thanks

Unlike a car that is used on a daily basis, the battery in a boat leads a tough life ( idle for months at a time )---------If it is more than 3 years old it is best to get a new one.

the battery is only 2 years old but from standing outside all the time and only used 1 hour in 6 month I think it's normal that it loosses some of it's charge, I should have recharged it befor cranking but,....

I will recharge it and keep it inside for the winter.
The thing is that I don't know if I have to reset the tps sensor after the three light warning, or should I be fine with a fresh charge on the battery....

Depends....Anytime you get a low voltage condition and the condition goes away the TPS will probably reset. But, anytime you get a voltage spike you can cause a condition that will require a manual re-set of the TPS. That re-set is done by using the kill switch and ignition switch in a sequence that can be found in the service manual. I would plan on a new battery every three years and it needs to be a 1000 CCA battery to avoid premature problems.
