Question for evinrude mechanic

1989 E25TECEM===I have tested the thermostat 4 times in hot water with a thermometer
right beside it. It opened everytime at 145 to 150 degees. Actually started to open around 144.
Would you reuse it? Thanks in advance.

Yes... that thermostat normally opens at 143 degrees. That number is normally imprinted upon it.
