" Wild Card here, You said 305 heads will bolt on to the 350 but flow would be reduced due to smaller valves. What are the pro's and con's to doing this? less power, better gas consuption, and chance of hurting the bottom end? any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks,

" Just a comment Sean because

" Just a comment Sean because I read your original post; you will have less power for sure. As for better gas consumption... probably not. You will be asking your engine to do the same job but give it less HP in which to do it, causing it to suck more gas to get it done. You may not burn more with the 305 heads but as an arguement for using them, that may not be a good one in this application. If it were going in a car, I would say yes to that question because sustaining momentum on the road is much easier than on the water.
At any rate, good luck with it and enjoy.

"Thanks for the advise, unfortunatly I pulled the heads today to find automotive head gaskets (full metal) and a cracked piston. Now its time to find a motor. If anyone in the north Ga. area has a 350 long or short block avail. please email me @ [email protected] . Thanks again for your input will keep posting in the future!!!
