Quadrajet fuel line question -- Crusader CH220's

Hi all,
In my boat I have a pair of Crusader CH220's, 1975 vintage, with 1100 hours and still running strong.

On one of the engines I am replacing the carb with a new Q-jet I bought on eBay. Everything hooks up fine except for the fuel line, it looks like I have a 5/16" fuel line and the new carb has a threaded input (on the fuel inlet) for a 3/8" line. Unfortunately I can't re-use the old fuel inlet because it appears the new carb has a larger size socket (1"-ish vs. 7/8"). What's the best way to remedy this?

Seems I have a few choices:

- Replace the 3/16" line with a 3/8" hose (from carb to fuel pump) using an adapter at one end. This sounds good but reaching the other side of the engine is going to be hard.

- Find another fuel inlet that fits in the 1" socket in the carb, and fits a 5/16" on the other side. Hard to find this.

- Is there another option?

Picture of the two fuel inlets attached.

Thanks for any clues,

juryduty

Id' adapt the 3/8 line all the way to the fuel pump with the correct fittings at that end. Fully annealed stainless tubing (McMaster-Carr) is easy to bend and doesn't kink if you're careful.

You can buy a new "flexible" fuel line from this site...its under the universal engine parts...add to that the new inverted flare to NPT adapter for the fuel pump and you should be good to go...

Thanks. But let's say I go with 3/8" line (or the line from this site), how do I adapt the 3/8" size to the 3/16" output on the fuel pump side?

Every marine standard production chevy v-8 fuel pump I've touched used the 1/4" NPT threads...you can usually get them from the hardware store...depending upon the fuel line you use will drive whether you'll be better off with a straight one or a 90 deg adapter. and if you change the NPT fittings, use PST not the teflon tape.
