qd 21 problems

i have a 1960 qd21 10 hp johnson. it has run really well for a long time but recently started " coughing " when running at full throttle. yesterday it started doing the same thing at idle. i have gone through the carb and tried adjusting the needles but nothing seems to help. any help would be appreciated

Ceramic fuel filter clogged????

i dont think it is. the motor will run wide open it just runs a little rough so i wouldnt think it would be a filter problem
