QD-10

Hello, I've recently acquired a 1949-50 Johnson QD-10. After cleaning all the mice remains out I've been tinkering on it. Got it to fire with gas in the cylinders but that's it so far. Seems like it's not getting fuel thru the carb. Had it apart twice, cleaned and blown out with air. My first guesting is what does the hose do that fits onto the back right side of the carb? One end has the plug in it. Second question is what's the small round piece on the back top of carb ? It screws in behind the jet. Looks like a baffle of some sort. New to this vintage motor so it's been interesting so far.

"Baffle" thing is the air inlet for the slow speed system.

Not sure about the hose. Could be the air hose for pressurizing the fuel tank. If it is plugged, that would suggest that the motor has been converted to fuel pump and non-pressurized tank

Good morning, I'll clean the air inlet and see what happens after that. It's still a two line fuel system, no pump.
