Purchasing Used 4 Stroke Mercury 3.5hp

I'm looking to purchase a used 4 stroke Mercury 3.5 for an inflatable tender. This one is supposedly a 2010 model that was purchased new in 2017 from a local dealer and has 2 hours on it. I'm aware about the carb issues that are common with the small 4 strokes, is there anything else to look for on it? Besides cosmetic differences, did they make changes on this motor from 2010 to today? Any big concerns about this era?

Hi Bingo. Most carb issues are related to improper storage and combined with the use of ethanol fuel. These troubles are easily corrected. Some changes have occurred over the years you mention, but it should not represent a problem if you ever need parts. It really sounds like a good purchase to me. But other input is certainly requested here.
