"hi, have two more questions after the weekend on the lake --- have a 86 bayliner Capri 19.5ft with aq131a/275, since I have owned the boat it has pulled very hard to the left -- I have to keep the wheel at almost three o'clock to keep it going straight and at higher speed it takes some strength --- is there a adjustment for this (small nob under steering wheel??) I have more probs with the boat so this has been on the back burner but thought I would ask --- Also the drive will now raise to trailer position but will not lower -- tried reversing wires on switch to test out but same outcome -- was wondering if better test to check motor/ wiring diag. there looks like about 10 wires going into the top of the tilt motor ---- any suggestions are helpful -- thanks for your time"

"Regarding the tilt motor, I made a post a couple of days ago indicating (with the help of the wiring diagram) how it works. You may want to read it, so you can find where to look for the problem. Here is the link:

Regarding the boat pulling towards the left, loosen the screw (part 5) in the lower gear unit, then adjust the exhaust outlet (part 4, AKA "trim tab") slightly towards the left and tighten the screw again. Take the boat fot a ride and see how it goes. You may have to repeat the adjustment a few times until you find a setting you are happy with.

If you go the link below, you can download the operator's manual for your engine and drive (type AQ131A under "engine type"). The manual explains the exhaust outlet adjustment and many more things you may want to know.

El P Maybe his boat is Crabbin

El P Maybe his boat is Crabbing and he doesn know how to trim. My 230CD was like that until I understood how the extra button on the throttle worked
My 2 cents

"Ben, his boat has power tilt,

"Ben, his boat has power tilt, not power trim. Power tilt cannot be used to trim the boat, it would be ruined in no time."

"Oh, sorry...I am a real novice at boating. Its just that my lesson in this department was more recent than I would like people to know...
