Pull sTart stop washer broken

Hi can anyone help??? I have a 50hp mercury thunderbolt. The pull mechanism has a nut which tightens anticlockwise and a washer with what I would describe is a castleated edge. To stop the spring unwinding one of the edges ofvthecwasher is bent into a whole on the mechanism.and the centre of the washer has a flat edge which prevents the spindle for the pull start mechanism from turning.

This washer has been damaged by me pulling hard many many times in a frustrating day trying to get the engine to start!!!!

Any ideas where I can get a replacement washer?

Or in worst case how can I convert the engine to an electric start?

Hoping some one understands what I'm on about and can help. My boat has been out of the water all summer!!

Many thanks in anticipation,

Rob

No need to panic, your local dealer likely has it in stock or can order it --------------listed at $1.17------------Best find out why motor is hard to start!!

Many thanks but I cannot find the engine number the dealer says he need to find the part. You said you had one listed for $1 .17, do you have details as to how I can contact the stockist?

I need to get the pull start fixed before sorting out the rest of the issues! This thread could run and run!!!!

Many thanks

Rob

It is a very common part and every dealer should know what you are looking for.---------------Look above the yellow line on top of this page to find it.-------Nothing to it.

Brilliant found several parts I need. Sorry seems really obvious now how to find them. I need to sort postage to uk but fab I have the parts identified and for the rest of the engine too. Been fixing it in the dark really.
thank you for your help. Brilliant forum.Cheers, Rob
