"The plastic standpipe was loose inside the tank - where it connects to the screw on, top plate assy. (The part that accomodates where the fuel hose connects to the tank) It has to have an air tight seal to allow proper fuel draw. I dont know how it happened but those standpipes are not installed with much care or craftsmanship. It will cause one to blame the fuel pump and a who knows what else. Just FYI. The tank was a 6 gal TEMPO."
