"I know this is a dumb questio

"I know this is a dumb question but dumb is what I do best. My motor rotation is ccw, I assume this means counter clockwise. Is this considered a "left handed motor" ? Also I was wondering do car engines run ccw or cw? I am sure I could find this info in the manual but the last question and answer in this thread just made me wonder. thanks"

Most domestic car engin

Mike;
Most domestic car engines and boat engines turn CW when viewed from the front.
This translates to LH in boat speak; which is as viewed from the stern.
Most drives are standard RH; which means the prop turns CW from behind.

A counter rotating drive is LH; the prop turns CCW from behind; meanwhile the engine is still a LH rotation. The change is done in the lower gear case of the drive.
