Hi, I am using Johnson 150HP V6 outboard engine. The propeller hit something floating in the water and slipped and my boat can only move slowly. When I increase speed, there is loud noise from engione.

(1) How to repair it (the propeller is intact). Which part is to be replaced (eg safty pin/rubber cushion etc).

(2) When I took out the lower unit, the shaft could not be pull out from upper unit. How to pull it out. (see photo attached)

Thanks for your help.

What year is the engine? There really isn't much in the way of a safety device built into the lower unit. To remove the lower unit, you need to remove the shift attachment that is under the carbs and then all the bolts holding the lower unit to the mid-section (including the one under the trim tab in the back)

Hi, it is 1993 V6 model. I remember old days, there is a safety pin to protect the propeller, then later, a kind of rubber ring/cushion replaced this pin.
I have removed the lower housing. Yesterday I also pull out the steel shaft from upper unit by shaking it hard all angle many times. It was actully stuck because of the accumulation of rust around the gears.
