Propeller Selection for Mercruiser Performance I/O

I have a 1988 Chris-Craft Stinger with twin 260 Mercruisers and Alpha One RH Drives. I'd appreciate input on propeller selection for faster acceleration and quicker planing. My personal selection is Cleaver 4-blades, but I'm looking for suggestions.

Uh OH! Somethings wrong? You say you're going 51mph, at 5800rpm. I'm hoping you're Tach is off because those engines are not supposed to be revved over 4500rpm! By my calculations if you're doing 51mph with a 19" pitch prop, your tach should say about 4800rpm, figuring in about 10% slip.

That's one of the reasons I am looking to change props. Of course, as I originally stated, I would like to get a little better acceleration out of the hole and onto a plane quicker. I'm not 'regularly using the boat' with props that allow it to turn a thousand RPMs over. I only ran it to give the forum the specs asked for. The current props will be kept as spares ONLY. This boat hasn't been run in a number of years and has been kept inside on a trailer. It's a freshwater boat only and has only been used for boat shows. I'd like to get some use out of the boat this season and know that I need new props for it, so I thought I'd get some input on a good set of propellers for it. Technology changes so much from year to year on propellers that I wanted to get some up-to-date information before I spent over two grand on cleaver wheels.

I would recheck your Tachs, your boat should be going much faster with those twin 260's then 51mph with 19 pitch props, if your turning 5800rpm?
