Previously, my boat cruised at 30 mph when at 5K rpm. After replacing my damaged prop (hit a rock), I notice that when starting out my rpm hit 5K and I am only doing 25 mph. Once the boat planes out and I drop the throttle a bit the rpms drop to 4.5K and speed increases. Then I can hit 30 mph at 5K rpm. Would this be consist with cavitation caused by a damaged propeller bore sleeve?
