is there a way to test for a s

is there a way to test for a spun prop while the boat is out of the water. I was also told that my problem could be a result of a drive shaft. How would I test for that. The last time in the water when I throttled above 2400 rpm there was no power to the drive.

"It's easy to test when the boat is out of the water, long as you can take it for a brief ride. I suppose you could pull the coil wire, put it in gear, and stand on the prop blades. If the prop turned on the hub, you can tell by marking the two parts.

Is it a Mercruiser Alpha drive? Take the hub out and give it a close look for hairline cracks.
