I know the pitch will mess wit

I know the pitch will mess with rpm's and the wot speed but how much does the diameter do? if its smaller does that mean good because less drag? or bad becasue it doesnt push as much water?

Thanks

"Ok, makes sense.. i have tried a cleaver and it blows, nice roost and top end but sh*t out the hole and almost impossible to plane, i guess thats the "profile" you mentioned. So if i went down in diameter from waht i got now (14.25 to a 13.5)it wont be a big deal? i am running a 21px14.25 and i want a 23px13.5"

"well.. 23p will make it go faster but will plane slower.

all depends on boat weight, people, fuel etc.. hull design. then horsepower, torque, gear ratio, prop design etc..

Alum props are thicker then SS and wont let the engine rev as quick as they have more drag in the water, and they flex.

Well you might gain a little from dropping the diameter but you'll lose 400rpms from the WOT with the pitch change.

what's your WOT range and what RPMS are you getting with your current prop ?

And what engine do you have ? What are you trying to do ?"

"I have a 350 mag(wot 4800)/alpha 1 (gen2) 21' checkmate, when i run that 21p it will rev to 5k and its decent out of the hole, not amazing but decent..the 23p keeps the rpm's where i like them (around 4700-4800) im thinking because of that cleaver style on the 23p is why it sucks out the hole.. Do you think if i had a full blade 22p or even 23p it would perform better in the low end?"

A 4 blade 22P would make it ju

A 4 blade 22P would make it jump onto plane and may lose some top end speed. A 3 blade 23P will provide a decent hole shot and still good top end.
