You are talking about a 4 horse kicker. Your pitch selection will be very limited for that motor and may not vary by 1 or 2 inches max. In any event, there is almost nothing you can do to that motor, using it as a kicker, to give you a significantly noticable speed increase.

Depending on what size/weight of boat you have it on and what you are using it for (trolling etc) total replacement may be your only option if it does not suit your needs..."
