Good morning,

I am looking to replace my prop on my Johnson 130. Can't seem to get any numbers off the current prop. What does everyone recommend for a replacement? I have read that it should be 14 1/4 x 17 15 spline but not sure if that is correct? Thanks in advance...

The 15 spline would be a V-6 lower unit.-----And , yes some were fitted with those.----There will be numbers on that prop.----Near where the prop nut goes.-----And the prop FITS the boat and application.-----That info is missing.

What Racer is saying is that the prop is matched to the boat & motor combination.
There are a series of prop sizes that fit the engine but you must select the size for your application.
17' go fast boat?
19/20' heavy runabout?
Big old pontoon?
Each takes a different size prop.

Prop technology has changed a lot from the 70s & 80s until today.
Assuming it's a 3 blade aluminum (and you have offered zero details) older design replacing it with today's same pitch MAY result on being overpropped (too low RPM).
It's still going to be trial & error, most likely a 17 or 19 pitch.

Another thing is do you have a V4 gearcase, essentially limited to 14" diameter prop. Hub will be about 4 1/4" dia.
Or do you have one of the less common V6 gearcases? Props then can be up to 16" diameter. Hub will be about 4 3/4" dis.

It's a 17' bowrider.
Count your prop shaft splines and measure the diameter of your gear case, then use the Solas Prop Finder Tool here on this site. As Droid said, you're most likely going to use a 17P or 19P prop. Make sure your tach is working correctly and test your props until you can achieve 5500 at WOT with a normal load. As a general rule, each 1" change in pitch will cause a 150RPM change, so adjust your prop pitches accordingly.
