g'day, today I tested Solas 13x19 standard prop in Alloy on my 70HP 3Cyl 2stroke with Fletcher 155, following outcome ->
full Downtrim: top acceleration, top watergrip of Prop, Vmax 36mph GPS at 5.200 Revs
full Uptrim during / after careful acceleration: Vmax then 42mph GPS at 5.800! Revs.
It seems to generate some bow wave during full downtrim operation, eh ? what to do ? If in uptrim reving 5.800, 13x21 would be next choice, wouldn't it ?
pls. don't recommend "motor revs too high", I know. max Rev by Evinrude has been defined at around 5.400. Boat weight incl. motor is net around 425 lbs plus Captain. Motor raise / height is in its last hole without any downwards potential, it does not go lower with current longshaft. lower Cavi-Plate is then still 1inch on top of Transom e.g. higher than Transom. pls. do not recommend SS props due to financial restrictions. I'm looking forward to your opinions ..
