Problems with Yamaha outboard

I saw that earlier but I couldn’t find it under CDI but it came up as the ECM. The dealership called it an ECM also but the mechanic said the CDI Needed replacing. Thank for your help.

ECU/ECM erroneously get referred to as a CDI.

Those errors get onto the innerweb and the misinformation is spread out further and farther.
