i recently ran into this problem with my motor. its a 1982 90 hores johnson outboard. 2 stroke. it seems to flood when i try to start it. i already rebuilt the carbs and adjusted the floats. but not sure if the floats are in the rite postion. and i still have the same problem. still flooding the carbs out! does anyone have any ideas? thanks }}}}

Are the carbs flooding?
Check

Are the carbs flooding?
Check by pressing the bulb ans see if carbs are 'leaking'.
Next pull off the hoses from the primer solenoid and see if that is leaking when cranking. Pull the hoses off at the intake side so you do not risk breaking off the nipples at the cover!

if you disconnect these hoses

if you disconnect these hoses from the primer solenoid at the carburetor start the motor (do not touch the choke)no fuel should come out of these hoses if it does it will cause flooding and thet will be your problem..to check if primer sol. is working correctly switch off motor and turn ignition on only(do not start) depress choke. fuel should pour out these hoses. ive just overhauled mine.

thanks i am going to try these

thanks i am going to try these ideas today and get back to you guys.
thanks again
this had me stumped

"Hi Gus, one more note, pls make sure you use non oxy fuel......that is no alcohol. This fuel has destroyed more motors than you can ever imagine. Take care, Tim"

With the carburetor body held upside down, the float being viewed from the side, adjust the float so that the free end of the float (the end opposite the hinge pin) is ever so slightly higher (just ever so slightly off level) than the other end. And when viewed from the end, make sure it is not cocked.

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay store at:
