We had problems starting her up since i got her a few years ago.

I had put it down to the mods in the fuel line some one has done adding the fuel cut off switch added nearly another metre of copper tube.

i tried to start her last weekend and she was not having any of it, no fuel getting through.

i checked all the fuel inlines and replaced the fuel filter charged the battery up again and started first time yesterday, i was gob smacked!! we went out in her for an hour and she was running like a dream.

thinking i had cracked it i tried to start her tonight and nothing, the spark plugs are bone dry

1 and 2 look as though they are runnung a bit weak and 3 and 4 a bit rich."

"Steve, remove the flame arrestors in the carbs and move the throttle lever. Do the carbs squirt fuel? If not, the accelerator pumps (asrt 15) may be stuck (a bit of oil in the lever usually fixes this) or the carb bowls may be empty.

If the carbs squirt fuel, try starting with the throttle lever at 3/4 from WOT, just be prepared to crank it back quickly to minimum when (if) the engine starts. If the engine starts, you may have to adjust the carbs' idle mixture and the engine idle speed. However, you may want to start from scratch and open the carbs for cleaning; afterwards you should synchronize them, either by following the method int he owner's manual, or (even better) by using a uni-syn vaccum/flow meter tool. The Seloc manual explains how to do it; or you can search in the forum, as this has been discussed several times."

i recharged the battery and removed the flame arrestors and it was squirting fuel from 2 small copper pipes. Put it back together and she started first time.

temperamental is the word i think
